Bells & Bellringing

Each of the eight original bells supplied by John Warner & Sons of Spitalfield in 1883 features a line from Psalm 50. They were removed in 1997 and sent to the new Grace Church, Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Following extensive restoration of the tower and spire, a new peal of eight bells was installed with help of funding from the Millennium Commission. The new bells were produced at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry and bear their stamp and the year of casting(1999) on the lower waist. All the bells also have a decorative vine leaf border and the Millennium Logos.
The old bells were last rung on 26th April 1997 and were removed from the tower on 25th June 1997.
